PLANNING AND ZONING BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT ext. 241
planning@pomptonlakesgov.com

Land use planning is a mechanism for governments to provide compatible uses of land for residents and businesses that preserve the character of a community. The zoning process provides for the use of the land by regulating a structure’s height, lot coverage or characteristics.   Mapped zones separate land uses and identifies areas for permitted uses. The Zoning Board reviews site plans and subdivision applications and determines whether relief in the form of a variance may be granted. Zoning Ordinances may be viewed online by accessing the Borough’s Website at: www.pomptonlakesgov.com. and link to the Borough Code (ecode360) Chapter 190. The website also provides answers to Frequently Asked Question pertaining to zoning.
